Brenda Dempsey, Founder and CEO of Book Brilliance Publishing, is an inspiring force in both education and entrepreneurship. With 25 years of experience in teaching, specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Brenda has served as a SENCO across various settings, including special schools and secondary mainstream education. Her leadership within education laid the foundation for her to transition into an accomplished entrepreneur, Master Coach, and publisher.

As an author and anthologist, Brenda has created a five-series anthology collection that champions the power of voice.  She believes all voices must be seen, heard and noted.   

Beginning with Voices of Courage, her works have celebrated resilience, transformation and leadership. Notably, Resilient Voices captured the human spirit during the pandemic, while her June 2024 release, Voices of Women, showcased extraordinary female leaders from around the world.

Brenda’s path is a testament to unwavering determination. A former athlete, she was trained by Scotland’s national coaches in sprinting and hurdling, a background that honed her problem-solving skills – there’s no hurdle she cannot overcome.

This resilience and courage defined her journey through a 20-year abusive relationship, raising four children while homeless, and completing her BEd (Hons) degree under the most challenging conditions. Her story is one of triumph, as she balanced care for her ageing parents and personal growth, emerging as a beacon of hope for women worldwide.

Brenda’s accolades include worldwide recognition for her coaching and contributions to publishing, leadership and charity work. She also co-founded Helping Handbags, a charity focused on combating period poverty, and appeared in a documentary highlighting this critical issue.
