book brilliance publishing

By Dr Kate Anolue

In the first instalment of our new feature, we meet Dr Kate Anolue, affectionately known as Aunty Kate. Aunty Kate is a former midwife, and served as a councillor for the London Borough of Enfield for over 20 years, twice as their Mayor. She is the author of Time For Purpose.

Describe your book in less than 30-50 words.

Time For Purpose shows invaluable and measured criteria to succeed in life; you can pursue your goals even in the face of adversity. My experiences point towards my purpose and I invite you to take the same life review. There is genuinely something for everyone in his book.

Why did you want to write a book?

I have always had in mind to tell my story, but it became apparent when women in my Tendercare empowerment group, and people that I meet at events, got excited about my story and journey. It was almost like a demand to put it in writing. They want to refer to my story from a book at any time, so I took a bold step to write my autobiography.

Who is your book aimed at?

Time For Purpose is a fantastic interactive book, which gave more meaning to my autobiography.

The book was initially aimed at women and girls, who see me as their role model and want to learn how to move forward with their life. However, since it was published and launched, both men and women have come back to comment on how it has helped them to stop procrastinating and galvanise into action to find their purpose.

What is your vision for your book?

My vision for this book is to find its way into schools, libraries of students and undergraduates, and to men and women from all works of life. It is simple to read and it encourages all to find their purpose in life and make a difference in their community.

What is your favourite book and why?

I don’t have any favourite books, however, I love autobiographies. Just reading people’s life stories, and telling mine, has helped me to understand that telling stories can have a tremendous effect on the life of others. The story of their journey can also be very therapeutic and change our perception of how we feel about life or the way we feel about ourselves.
